M. David Riggs is a 1968 graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law and serves as chairman of Riggs Abney. His legal expertise includes civil litigation, government and politics, medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability law. He was also a volunteer mediator for Northern District Federal Court’s initial ADR program under the direction of Magistrate John Wagner.
He was a member of the Oklahoma State Legislature for 18 years and has served as chairman of the Access to Justice Commission, chairman of the board of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission, chairman of the board of the Oklahoma Nature Conservancy and the Sutton Avian Research Center, and chairman of the board of Youth Services of Tulsa.
Riggs has been highly ranked by Oklahoma Super Lawyers, named to the National Trial Lawyers list of top 100 trial lawyers for multiple years, and was awarded the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission Human Rights Award in 1985, as well as the James Madison First Amendment Award in 1986 and the Angie DeBow Civil Liberties Award in 1988.
